Thank you for selecting our resort. We look forward to sharing our “quiet little corner of the world” with you and ensuring that your visit here will be special in every way.
At Buena Vista Oceanfront Hot Springs Resort, we take pride in being family-owned and operated. Constructed by the late Jesus “Chuy” Valdez who passed his legacy to his sons and who now run the hotel. Our main goal is the same: make everyone feel like family so they’ll always have their home away from home. As Chuy used to say…
“YOU ARRIVE AS A GUEST, TREATED AS A FRIEND AND LEAVE FEELING AS PART OF OUR FAMILY”

American author John Steinbeck called the Sea of Cortez “the largest fish trap in the world.” It was true then and it is true today. With near perfect sea conditions, it is a paradise for serious big game trophy anglers, as well as those who only go out once or twice a year.
Our “front yard” is home to abundant marine life with over 850 species of fish, highlighting the Big Three: striped, blue and black marlin; in addition to yellowfin tuna, dorado (mahi-mahi), roosterfish, sawfish, snapper, horse mackerel, yellowtail and wahoo. These will test your fishing skill and will definitely make your reel scream and bend your rod!

Cabo Pulmo is a Protected Natural Area designated a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, one of the most important achievements in ocean conservation and the only hard coral reef area in the Gulf of California.
The reef of the Cabo Pulmo National Park is considered a treasure of the Baja California Sur Peninsula. It is around 20,000 years old and has more than 300 species of fish, which is why it is known as “The Aquarium of the World.” Cabo Pulmo has become world famous for diving and snorkeling, with instructors of the highest level.
El Triunfo, an excellent nearby day trip, is an old mining town with a population of around 300. It’s picturesque, to say the least, and a great place to visit. Take a tour with a guide and make it a “must do on Sundays” to try their famous paella. The Ruta de Plata Museum or mining museum is fascinating and well worth the trip, as is MuVaCa, a cowboy museum where you will discover the historical traditions cowboy ranching.
